Downtown Sudbury

Established in 1977 through the Ontario Municipal Act and a By-Law of the City of Greater Sudbury, Downtown Sudbury is one of over 200+ BIAs (Business Improvment Areas) throughout Ontario.

Downtown Sudbury's early focus was primarily on beautification, marketing, and events. Today, the organization has evolved into the leading agency for Downtown Economic Development. As a BIA, Greater Sudbury's Downtown is the largest concentration of small business, entertainment, and financial, medical, and government services for the City of Greater Sudbury and Northern Ontario.

Managed by a Volunteer Board of Directors elected by Downtown Businesses and Property Owner, Downtown Sudbury represents approximately 90 Downtown Property Owners, 400+ Businesses and Services, and over 7500+ employees.

Downtown Sudbury is a private sector driven, not-for-profit organization, representing Downtown Businesses and Property Owners and is funded directly by the private sector.

Downtown Sudbury is your Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA) Association, dedicated to the growth of Downtown through policy development, advocacy, special events, and economic development.

Downtown Sudbury works for the collective needs of "Downtowners": advocacy, marketing, special events, communications, networking, parking, street beautification and place making, security, safety, and economic development.
